Terms of Service

In short: Main Street Mate writes marketing content for your business. You review and approve it, and you're responsible for what you publish. Use it honestly: no fake reviews, no paying for reviews, and no texting people who didn't agree. You must be 18 or older. You can cancel and delete your account anytime.

1. Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and Main Street Mate for your use of Main Street Mate (https://mainstreetmate.com). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Main Street Mate for a business, you confirm you're allowed to act for that business, and these Terms bind it too.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. Main Street Mate is for businesses and the people who work for them, not for personal or household use, and not for children.

3. Your account

  • Keep your login details safe and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
  • Owners and managers decide who joins their team and what role they have, and are responsible for their team's use.
  • Give us accurate information, and keep it up to date.

4. What the service does, and its limits

  • Main Street Mate uses artificial intelligence to draft content. AI can make mistakes. Nothing is published or sent for you without approval unless you turn on an automatic option, and you should review content before approving it.
  • We don't promise any particular result, such as rankings, reviews, calls, or sales. Search engines, review sites, and AI assistants make their own decisions.
  • Features that connect to other services (such as Google or text messaging) depend on those services and their rules, and may change or stop if they change.

5. Rules you agree to follow

You agree not to use Main Street Mate to:

  • Write or post fake reviews, or reviews about a business you're connected to that pretend otherwise.
  • Offer anything of value (discounts, gifts, entries) in exchange for reviews, or ask only happy customers for reviews ("review gating").
  • Text or email anyone who hasn't agreed to hear from you, or keep contacting someone who opted out.
  • Publish anything false, misleading, discriminatory (including content that breaks fair housing laws), defamatory, or illegal, or that reveals someone's private information (such as patient information).
  • Break the rules of Google, review sites, or any service you connect.
  • Attack, overload, scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the service, or get around its limits or security.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. Your content

You own what you put into Main Street Mate and the content it creates for you. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only as needed to run the service for you (including sending it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy). You're responsible for having the rights to anything you upload, such as photos and customer information.

7. Our service

We own Main Street Mate itself: the software, design, and brand. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use it under these Terms while your account is active.

8. Plans, payments, and cancellation

Every account starts with a 14-day free trial. No credit card is needed to start, and we'll never charge you unless you choose a paid plan and enter payment details. Paid plans aren't available yet. When they start, we'll show every price before you choose a plan: no hidden fees. Paid plans will renew automatically each month or year until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your account. Our Refund Policy explains refunds. We'll tell you at least 30 days before any price change affects you.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put the service or others at risk; where reasonable, we'll warn you first.

10. Disclaimers

Main Street Mate is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

12. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you published or messages you sent through Main Street Mate, or because you broke these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

13. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina and the United States. Before filing any claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless the law where you live gives you a different right.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Main Street Mate after that means you accept the new Terms.
